Utah makes late addition in forward Chris Seeley

As July ended, the picking were slim among unsigned prospects in the 2016 class still looking for a college basketball program to call home. One player that turned heads among recruiting analysts was 6′-6″ forward Chris Seeley of Fresno Central (CA).

After solid play for Splash City in Las Vegas, Seeley reportedly gained interest from Utah, TCU, Washington State, UTEP and others. On Thursday, Seeley ended his commitment according to, selecting the Utah Utes as a late addition.

Utah still had multiple scholarships available for its 2016 roster, making nabbing Seeley an important move to add depth. After losing Jakob Poeltl and others, the frontcourt at Utah should be relatively young and thin for 2016-2017, and a player like Seeley conceivably can earn minutes.

Seeley reportedly averaged 16 points as a high school senior.
