Top 125 center Luka Garza to Iowa

An Iowa team which looks relatively thin in the post for the 2016-2017 campaign added a key big man to bolster the paint from 2017 and beyond on Saturday. 6′-10″ center Luka Garza of Maret School (DC) committed to the Hawkeyes.

Garza joins Connor McCaffrey, an in-state wing and head coach Fran McCaffrey’s son, in the class at Iowa.

A true big man at 230 pounds, Garza reportedly averaged 24 points per game as a junior and can really get it done as a post. Iowa doesn’t have a true pivot currently, and Garza should have the ability to step in and play, given his talent.

Garza already visited Alabama, and had official visits to Georgia and Notre Dame scheduled.
