Donnie Tyndall didn’t have much time to secure his 2014 class after taking over the Tennessee Volunteers program in the spring, so his ’15 effort will help show the direction he expects to take the program. 6′-6″ combo forward Admiral Schofield of Zion-Benton (IL) became the first recruit to volunteer to join Tyndall’s effort on Sunday.
Schofield announced his commitment to Tennessee via his Twitter account, while attending Tennessee’s elite camp. He reportedly had a successful spring and summer in playing for the Team NLP program in Illinois.
At 220 pounds, Schofield is a sizable prospect. It remains to be seen what his role will be on a Tennessee roster that has more new players this year than returners.
