After only being on the job a few months, new TCU head coach Jamie Dixon and his staff has begun obtaining top-100 talent in short order. That quest continued on Tuesday, as the Horned Frogs landed a top-75 caliber prospect in in-state center Kevin Samuel.

Samuel just post-graduate power forward Kouat Noi and top-100 caliber guard RJ Nembhard in class to date at TCU. Shortly after being hired in Texas, Dixon and assistant coach Ryan Miller were able to ink ’16 point guard Jaylen Fisher, a top 100 prospect in that class.

A true center that can block shots and finish around the rim, Samuel adds another dimension to a TCU program which is not deep in the post. At a minimum, Samuel should be able to provide athleticism and toughness in the paint right off the bat as his skill level develops.

While it will take more to upgrade the roster than what he’s landed so far, the addition of Samuel and the other mentioned prospects clearly show Dixon has the TCU program on the right track.
