Superb shooter Alex Barcello has a final five

Guard Alex Barcello of Corona Del Sol (AZ) is considered to be among the best outside shooting prospects in the 2017 class nationally, and a heady overall backcourt prospect ranked within the top-100 nationally.

On Thursday, Barcello cut his list of college programs down to just five. Barcello’s in-state program, Arizona, and Butler, Indiana, Stanford and Virginia all are among the finalists to land him for college.

At 6′-3″, Barcello is a sizable prospect capable of playing in both guard slots. He ran with the Oakland Soldiers in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League during the spring and summer and poured in almost 19 points per game (37 percent shooting from 3-point range).

Barcello also stars in one of Arizona’s premier high school basketball programs. As a junior, he averaged 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
