Saint Louis scores top 50 prospect Jordan Goodwin

Jordan Goodwin, a 6′-4″ shooting guard from Althoff (IL) and a Top 50 prospect nationally in the 2017 class, announced his commitment to Saint Louis on Friday.

Northwestern and Illinois were also factors in Goodwin’s recruitment, and Butler, Creighton, Missouri and Alabama also made his top seven school before he announced.

For new head coach Travis Ford at Saint Louis, this is the first building block towards rebuilding the Saint Louis program. Additionally, for Saint Louis fans, Goodwin is arguably the most touted recruit to join the program since Larry Hughes.

Goodwin often draws comparisons to Marcus Smart at the high school level, as a combo guard who gets things done to win games. Goodwin’s prowess has led to him being considered the top player in Illinois in the 2017 class.

The first pledge for the Billikens in the 2017 class, Goodwin could challenge to start as a freshman.
