Power guard Jared Terrell pops for Rhode Island

Top-100 guard Jared Terrell of Brewster Academy (NH) originally signed with the Oklahoma State Cowboys during the early signing period, but reconsidered and was released from his letter of intent recently. After a brief re-recruitment, Terrell decided on Rhode Island on Friday.

At 6′-3″, 220 pounds, Terrell is a powerful presence at shooting guard, even at the prep school level. He is regarded as having a college ready frame, with an offensive game that allows him to play to his strengths. Playing in arguably the top prep school program in the nation also allowed Terrell to face top competition.

Terrell joins point guard Jarvis Garrett as a formidable incoming freshmen backcourt tandem for the Rams. They should join incoming sophomore E.C. Matthews, who was one of the top freshman in the Atlantic 10 last season, in a talented young trio.
