Needing a point guard to add depth for next season, and a starter beyond that, Louisville struck on Tuesday, snaring 6′-2″ point guard Darius Perry of Wheeler (GA). Perry, a top-75 prospect in the 2017 class, reportedly picked the Cardinals over Georgia.

The addition of Perry gives Louisville two top-100 prospects in the 2017 class, as he joins big man Malik Williams as giving an early pledge.

Hailing from one of the top high school programs in Georgia, Perry also played in the adidas Uprising circuit for Game Elite. In spring and summer play, Perry displayed a versatile game in averaging 11.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists.

While it’s still early, Louisville is already ahead of the game in landing an impressive duo for 2017.
