Ohio State hits daily double with two ’18 commits

Ohio State joined Arkansas as one of two high-major programs with three commitments in the 2018 class (incoming high school juniors), after hitting the daily-double on Saturday. Two in-state forwards and grassroots teammates for King James, Justin Ahrens and Darius Bazley both committed to the Buckeyes according to multiple reports.

Ahrens and Bazley join Upper Arlington (OH) shooting guard Dane Goodwin (who committed as a freshman in high school) in the class for Ohio State. Ahrens already has ties to the Big Ten as the younger brother of Michigan State wing forward Kyle Ahrens. Of the trio, Bazley is generally considered the best overall prospect, but all three players are consensus top 150 prospects nationally.

With two more years left of high school, it’s too early to tell exactly how this early class will pan out for Ohio State, but it certainly seems promising at this juncture. At this point Ohio State only has one commit in the 2017 class, big man Kaleb Wesson, and will certainly continue pushing for other pledges in that class.
