Marquette shores up interior with Theo John

With a solid group of backcourt prospects on their roster, it’s clear going forward Marquette needs to add some interior talent to assure future rosters are balanced. They made a key step in that direction Tuesday, as they plucked Theo John from Minnesota to hold down their paint.

John has good size and strength and could start as a sophomore for Marquette, depending on how things shake out. He joins fellow big man Ike Eke in the class for Marquette, though John is a borderline top 100 prospect and more ready than Eke at this stage to contribute.

John, who hails from Champlain Park (MN), picked Marquette over Minnesota. California was also in the picture in John’s recruitment for awhile.
