Jerron Martin signs with Mississippi

A fourth member of next season’s freshmen class at Ole Miss has signed, as the Mississippi Rebels signed 6′-1″ point guard Jerron Martin of Princeton Day (MD). Martin made his decision shortly after an official visit to campus.

According to a release from Ole Miss, Martin averaged 15 points and shot 81% from the free thrown line at Princeton Day. He was formerly at Bishop McNamara (MD), prior to transferring to Princeton Day.

Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy commented on the signing, saying:

“Jerron is a high-character, talented guard who has the ability to create scoring opportunities off the dribble. His length and speed with the ball will complement our returning backcourt.”

The Rebels landed three big men in the early signing period,  Dwight Coleby, Janari Joesaar and Sebastian Saiz. Of that group, Coleby is the most regarded nationally, and is an in-state standout.

Mississippi recently missed on junior college point guard Dre Mathieu, who signed with Minnesota over Ole Miss.
