Iowa pops third ’15 pledge, Ahmad Wagner

The Iowa Hawkeyes 2015 recruiting class jumped to three members on Sunday, as Ahmad Wagner announced via his Instagram account that he has verbally committed to Iowa.

A 6′-7″ power forward from Wayne (OH), Wagner joins wing forward Brandon Hutton and shooting guard Andrew Fleming as expected signees for Iowa during the early signing period.

Wagner reportedly averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game as a high school junior. Iowa is thin on the interior, and Wagner could be given a chance to work into the rotation early for the Hawkeyes.

During his junior year, Wagner also managed an enviable 63 percent field goal percentage, though he only attempted 12 3-point shots on the season.

Iowa doesn’t have any world-beaters in its trio of pledges, but each prospect should have a defined niche that helps the Hawkeye program as it does battle in the deep and talented Big Ten.
