Indiana nabs point guard with NBA bloodlines, Devonte Green

Indiana has a fourth recruit in place for the 2016 recruiting cycle, point guard Devonte Green of Long Island Lutheran (NY). Green is the younger brother of NBA wing Danny Green.

Green is solid point guard with the ability to hit 3-point shots. He figures to compete with fellow incoming guard Curtis Jones for reserve minutes in the backcourt as a freshman. Also in the ’16 recruiting class for the Hoosiers is in-state wing Grant Gelon and top 50 prospect De’Ron Davis of Overland (CO).

On the grassroots circuit, Green showed his backcourt capabilities on the adidas circuit for the New York Rens. He’s proven he can play alongside high-major talents in that setting, and can help the Hoosiers program going forward. Green’s 20 points per game average thus far his senior season also indicates he’s on an upward trajectory.
