Hoopniks Terrific 30, presented by Krossover (2-25-13)

The end of February gives way to March Madness across the country, not only at the NCAA level, but also in high school hoops. Last week saw a bit of madness, as previously undefeated Bishop Montgomery (CA) had their Cinderella season interrupted with an upset loss to La Verne Lutheran (CA). Prior to the loss, they had an outside shot at achieving a mythical national title.

Another change from last week, was a drop after a road loss by Huntington Prep (WV). They took their show on the road to Florida, and lost to The Rock (FL), which has some impressive wins on their resume. Still, a vicious dunk by Naismith Award winner Andrew Wiggins made its waves across the web, and is what most fans will remember from the weekend.

Looking down the road, several tilts in California, Illinois and other post-season events are worth watching as the 2012-2013 season winds down. With eight undefeated public schools still in the Hoopniks Terrific 30, presented by Krossover, it’s a fair bet that one or more will also be upset going forward, which will be highly interesting to watch.
