Finnish center Hannes Polla selects Oklahoma

According to multiple reports, 6′-11″ center Hannes Polla of Helsinki Basketball Academy, verbally committed to Oklahoma. Polla reportedly also visited Penn State and Tulane on a trip through the United States.

Polla joins in-state forward Brady Manek as the Sooners’ two pledges in the 2017 class to date.

Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger previously coached Polla’s coach, Hanno Mottola, for the Atlanta Hawks.

Polla played for the Finland U18 national team in the 2016 Nordic Championship, accumulating 8 points and 8 rebounds per game during the event.

With Polla and Manek in the fold, Oklahoma continues their heavy pursuit of Trae Young, an elite in-state guard prospect.
