English big man Dylan Johns picks Texas A&M

The Texas A&M Aggies have added another intriguing international big man to their 2013 recruiting class, landing a verbal commitment from England, Dylan Johns. A 6′-11″ forward, Johns briefly was in the United States at Trent International (TX), and is currently with Ipswich Basketball Academy in England.

For a time, Johns was believed to be a pledge to the LSU Tigers. He joins Colombian big man Tony Trocha, among others in the Aggies’ class. Both Trocha and Johns are long and potential-filled big men that need time to develop, but their athleticism and size are undeniable.

Johns has been a member of several of England’s national teams, has had some success in Spain as well.

Johns is the second player that announced for the Aggies’ recruiting class in the regular signing period. They previously landed former Ole Miss player and junior college transfer Jamal Jones.

For those fans that wish college basketball was a year-round sport, the College Basketball Newcomers Guide paperback and Kindle book previews the incoming recruits for every team nationally. There’s no need to wait until Fall to learn about the new names in college basketball that will be starring on the hardwood.
