Elite guard Trae Young down to six

Five star guard Trae Young of Norman North (OK) has been among the most touted prospects in the 2017 class early on in high school. Now, fans of several prominent college basketball programs are hopeful he’ll attend their school of choice after high school.

Young released a list of six finalists on Wednesday night, naming Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Washington and Texas Tech as the contenders. Of that group, it’s believed that Kentucky and his home-state program Oklahoma are currently in the best shape.

After being part of a Mokan team that captured the Peach Jam championship, and being on the roster of the USA Basketball U18 team which won the FIBA Americas tournament last weekend Young is certainly on the upswing and known as among the premier “scoring” guard in the country.
