The Utah Utes have added a junior college player with three seasons of college eligibility to their 2014 recruiting class, as 6′-7″, 205 pound power forward Chris Reyes committed on Saturday, according to his former grassroots coach, Dinos Trigonis.
Reyes reportedly took his official visit to Utah during the weekend of February 22.
Reyes started college at St. Mary’s, where he redshirted as a freshman. He then transferred to Citrus JC (CA), where he has had a monstrous freshman season. Reyes is currently averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game, which includes 58% field goal percentage. Reyes played at Damien (CA) at the high school level.
According to Trigonis, Reyes picked Utah over the Arizona State Sun Devils, Boise State, Utah State and UC Santa Barbara.
Reyes could potentially form a solid frontcourt one day for the Utes with in-state standout Brekkott Chapman, who signed during the early signing period. Chapman is a top-100 player nationally.
Another Belmont Shore alum headed to Pac-12: 6-7 235 PF Chris Reyes (Citrus/CA JC) headed to Utah. Has 3 years of D-I eligibility.
