Despite a heart-breaking Saturday loss to Illinois, fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes still had some positive news over the weekend. After Saturday’s pledge by junior college point guard Trey Dickerson, the Hawkeyes landed a pledge from junior small forward Brandon Hutton of De La Salle (IL) to start their 2015 recruiting class.
The pledge by Hutton was reported on Twitter by his AAU coach, who characterized Hutton as one of the best defensive players in the country. Hutton was on campus for an unofficial visit to Iowa over the weekend.
Hutton held an offer from Big Ten rivals Wisconsin, among other programs, prior to making his decision.
6'6" forward Brandon Hutton has committed to Iowa after his unoffical last night. The best defender in the state/country!
