Cal adds late ’14 PG Brandon Chauca

The California Golden Bears landed their second newcomer for the 2014 recruiting cycle, edging conference rival Washington State for the services of 5′-9″ point guard Brandon Chauca of 22 Feet Academy (KY).

Chauca is an undersized point guard that can hit long range shots that keep defenders honest. According to InsideNova.com, Chauca averaged 23 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds during his senior year at 22 Feet Academy. He was at 5 high schools in years in high school.

New Cal head coach Cuonzo Martin didn’t have much time to put his recruiting class together, nabbing only 7′-0″ center Kingsley Okoroh to go with Chauca. Neither prospect is expected to be an impact player in the Pac-12.
