After Duquesne release, Donovon Jack picks Penn State

Penn State landed its third recruit in the 2012 class, in-state power forward Donovon Jack, according to Jack had formerly signed with Duquesne, but was released from his letter of intent when new head coach Jim Ferry was hired. Jack joins power forward Brandon Taylor and shooting guard Akosa Maduegbunam in the Nittany Lions recruiting class. reports that Jack posted 17 points and 10 rebounds per game at Berks Catholic (PA). Another Duquesne recruit, shooting guard Willie Moore, was also released but has not selected a new school. At 6′-9″ and with room to add bulk, Jack projects with reasonable potential down the road.

Jack is part of a huge effort that Penn State head coach Pat Chambers has taken in emphasizing in-state talent. In the 2013 class, Chambers already landed pledges from in-state guards Brandon Austin and Geno Thorpe.
