7-1 Michael Ojo set for Florida State

7′-1″, 290 pound center Michael Ojo of Tennessee Temple (TN) signed with Florida State on Wednesday, according to a release from the Seminoles.

Ojo earned All-American honors at the National Association of Christian Athletes Tournament in 2012, and reportedly averaged 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocked shots as a senior this season.

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, he is the sixth member of Florida State’s recruiting class for 2012. He joins high school guards Devon Bookert, Aaron Thomas and Montay Brandon, junior college forward Robert Gilchrist and International center Boris Bojanovsky in the class.

“We are excited about this group of players and the opportunity that each one of them will have to help our team continue to build on the foundation we already have in place,” said coach Leonard Hamilton said in the release. “Michael fits in well with the high-character type of student-athletes already included in this class. We are going to have patience with this group but they will grow as individuals and their progress will be evident quickly.”
